Happy Homecoming

Snuggled in at home in a blanket made by nurse Jennifer!

Our first family picture!

After a fun-filled summer of living at the hospital, our entire family is able to be home together. Carter came home on Thursday, August 26th, only two days shy of being three months old. He was a surprise birthday gift to his mom, born on May 28th at only 24 weeks 3 days gestation, weighing only 1 lb. 7 oz. We will be forever grateful to Carter's Dr.s, Respiratory Therapists, NNPs, and nurses (especially his favorites...and ours: Susan, Jennifer, Nicole and Sherreen) for the knowledge they have that kept our baby alive and the extra love they gave him when we couldn't be around. During Carter's stay in the NICU, we met many wonderful people and made some new friends. Of course, we agree with Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz when she said, "There's no place like home."
Thanks to Grandpas and Grandmas, Aunts, Uncles and awesome friends who helped make Cole and Izzy's summer (in their words) "The best summer ever!" With all the support we've received, we seem to have come through this without too many emotional scars.
