Merry Christmas to you all!
Just a fun fact about an article that ran in the Deseret Morning News today. The Christmas I remember best article entitled "Ailing Dad's Co-Workers bring cheer to Family" refers to a store owner. That store owner is my Grandpa (my Dad's dad)! Grandpa has always been this giving and loving!
Love you Grandpa! Proud to be your grand-daughter.

Holiday Cheer
We hope you are all enjoying your holiday season! We sure are!
We've seen Santa a few times at various events. Cole has made it very clear that he would like a nintendo wii. Isabel likes to say "Santa" and is very good at pointing out anyone or anything that remotely looks like the big man, but refuses to actually go close enough to touch him. She would probably be happy with a box to play with this Christmas. (Oh the good days of having a one year old.)
We are enjoying spending some time with Clint and Michelle (my brother and soon to be sister in law) while they are in town. Cole thinks he should be attached to Clint's hip all the time, and Michelle is gracious enough to share him!
We went to the Larry H. Miller Sing Around the other night as a family and enjoyed seeing live video feed of some of the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Above are a few pictures of the Kindergarten program Cole's school put on. The kids sang songs and acted out the Christmas Alphabet. Cole was an elf in the play. They even gave him a real hammer to act with...that was very exciting for him since all real tools are off limits at home.
Merry Christmas....6 days and counting.

Brent's Tree
As some of you may know, our family lost our uncle Brent this past September in a car accident. He left behind his wife and eight awesome kids. Brent was one of those guys that you could always count on. He could constantly be found in the service of others. Many of us aren't even sure when he slept or if he really ever did.
Brent touched so many lives. His viewing was the largest viewing the people at the mortuary had ever seen. People waited in line for 2 and 3 hours just to pay their respects to him and his wonderful family.
As an extended family, we wanted to carry on Brent's legacy of service. This year we (the Oborn and Tonge families) put together a tree in honor of Brent to be displayed at the Festival of Trees this Wednesday thru Saturday. All items are donated and then the trees are auctioned in a silent auction. All the proceeds go to benefit the children at Primary Children's Hospital who struggle with life threatening conditions on a daily basis.
The tree decor...On each silver ornament is a word that reminds us of Brent. There are about 75 of them. The things under the tree are representative of what Brent liked to do with his time on this earth. I realized today that the one thing we don't have under there is a water gun. (It's hard to recall a holiday we didn't end up wet.)
While this has been a hard time for all of us, I am so grateful to have the knowledge of the Plan of Happiness...to know that we will be together forever someday.
